NAIDOC Week Celebrations

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The theme for 2019 is VOICE. TREATY. TRUTH. “Let’s work together for a shared future”.

Our team members Felicia, Cate, and Rebecca joined the official NAIDOC Week launch with the local community in the City of Swan.

Commissioned artist, Randall invited Cate to contribute to the City’s Mural by spray painting her handprint and writing a personal message.

Danny Ford of Wadjuk also addressed the Valmec team in the Kewdale office, delivering a Cultural Immersion presentation and Q&A discussion forum. It was a great way to enhance our understanding of Indigenous culture, how this pertains to the workplace and how we can engage and work with Indigenous communities to create a better and shared future.
